Gregory J. Ashe
Gregory J. Ashe, from Huber Heights, Ohio, earned his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music Performance degrees from Bowling Green State University. He has performed with numerous groups across Ohio, Michigan, and the surrounding regions.

Recently, Mr. Ashe has been featured as a soloist in Carmina Burana with the Toledo Choral Society and in the chorus/cover role of Gastone in La Traviata with Detroit Opera. His recent performances also include portraying the Official Registrar in Detroit Opera’s production of Madame Butterfly (October 2023) and singing the solos of Matthew in the Toledo Choral Society’s performance of Considering Matthew Shepard. Other notable solo engagements with the Toledo Choral Society include, The Messiah, The Seven Last Words of Christ, The Great Lakes Cantata, and The Gospel Mass.

Mr. Ashe has participated in Cincinnati Opera’s young artist program, where he portrayed Sportin’ Life in Porgy and Bess: Redux. He also took part in Arias in Motion, the culminating performance of the OperaWorks Emerging Artist Program in Los Angeles, and debuted the role of Herbie Jenkins in the world premiere opera Buffalo Soldier in Italy with the International Opera Theater of Philadelphia.

In addition to his performing career, Mr. Ashe serves as the Associate Director of Financial Services at Oakland University’s medical school. He is also a dedicated chorister with Detroit Opera, recently participating in his 35th production with the company and contributing to their Community Outreach initiatives.
