Toledo Choral Society
"Excellence in Music since 1919"
The Toledo Choral Society is the area's oldest continuously performing musical organization. We have been performing Handel's Messiah in December since the Society's establishment, in 1919, in addition to an annual Spring concert. We owe our long success to the dedication and enthusiasm of our audiences, our singing members, our leadership, and the generous support of the public and private contributors.
Samuel P. Szor, Director
Toledo's "Mr. Music", has been directing The
Choral Society since 1958. His directing
experience has gone from Toledo area high
schools, to church choirs, to the Toledo
Symphony, to New York City concerts. Sam
has also won numerous awards. Most
recently in May of 2003, he received the
VocalNet Ovation Award; for his outstanding
leadership and achievement in the vocal arts.
